Kids Photography Workshop

Looking for kids’ photography activities these school holidays 2025? Marnong Estate invites children aged 6–12 years to take part in an inspiring and hands-on workshop designed to ignite creativity. Surrounded by scenic landscapes and friendly farm animals, young photographers will explore storytelling through the lens. Not only will they build practical skills, but they’ll also enjoy a full day of fun, learning and imagination.

What will you need?
A smartphone or tablet with a camera
Dani Watson — our in-house Content Creator and an award-winning photographer (Master of Arts Photography) — leads this engaging kids’ photography class. She’ll guide the group through exciting photo challenges and creative exercises. As they progress, participants will learn to photograph real scenes using natural light, simple styling and playful techniques. Along the way, Dani shares pro tips tailored to young learners.
What to Expect at Our Kids’ Photography Workshop
We’ve designed interactive photography stations to offer a range of creative experiences:
- Macro Photography – Kids will zoom in on fine floral details using styled natural setups
- LEGO Storytelling – They’ll build and shoot imaginative scenes with their own LEGO pieces or favourite toy. BYO LEGO or favourite toy
- Animal Photography – They’ll capture images of friendly farm animals, including peacocks
- Food Photography – Kids will learn fun ways to style and shoot food-themed images
- Portrait Station – Each child will learn to adjust phone settings to take a portrait of our guest Monique
In addition, every activity encourages creativity and hands-on discovery. This keeps children engaged while they build new skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Keepsakes and Bonus Inclusions
At the end of the session, each child chooses their favourite photo. We’ll print it and present it in a branded Marnong Estate folder for them to take home.

Please Note:
- This experience is ideal for children aged 6–12 years. Younger children may attend with active adult support
- A supervising adult must remain with each child throughout the session
- Please do not feed the animals — their care is managed by our trained Pet Attendants
- BYO picnic blanket only. Marnong Estate is a fully licensed venue, so outside food, drinks, pets, or ball games are not permitted during your visit. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all guests
