Create, Explore, and Connect with Nature at Marnong Estate
These school holidays, unleash your child’s creativity with our Birdhouse Making Workshop—a hands-on activity perfect for kids aged up to 12 years.
Inspired by the vibrant birdlife at Marnong Estate—including our roaming peacocks, Australian birds in the aviary, and friendly chickens—this workshop invites little ones to craft their own colourful birdhouse to take home.
Children will have the chance to paint their birdhouse with stunning designs to brighten your garden while learning about the feathered friends it will attract. While the paint dries, kids can visit the aviary and explore the estate, collecting natural treasures—twigs, feathers, and straw—to personalise their birdhouse and create a cosy welcome for their new bird visitors.
Don’t forget to explore the estate’s other animal residents! Visit the camels near the main fence, keep an eye out for peacocks strutting around Cucina 3064, and see if you can spot a goat near The Woolshed Lookout.

BYO picnic rug* and find the perfect spot on the estate lawn!
Caffè Vista will be open until 7pm on the day so that you can enjoy some Italian street food, including children friendly chicken nuggets, chips and pizza.
Please note:
One supervising adult is required per child, with a maximum of four children per adult.
All children must have a supervising adult present for the entire duration of the event.
This activity is recommended for children aged 5–12 years.
Please bring an art smock or wear old clothes as the workshop involves painting.
Please respect the estate’s animals: be quiet, kind, and do not feed them as they are cared for by our dedicated Pet Attendant Team.
This is a self-guided class with a two-hour duration, allowing everyone to move at their own pace.
*BYO own picnic blanket only please. Marnong Estate is a fully licensed venue with three wonderful dining options and a farm shop. Please leave your animals, ball games and own food and beverages at home.
