Planting and orientation of rows have been carefully considered at Marnong Estate to best utilise its cool climate, the 300m elevation and the rainfall exposure on the north-facing slopes to produce high-quality wines.
Soil was first turned on our vineyard in 2016 with Shiraz, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Noir planted on the north-facing slopes of the estate. Vines now cover 16ha of the property with the exciting additions of Italian grape varieties Fiano and Montepulciano in 2017, and Sangiovese and Malbec in 2021.
