The Film Starring Steve Bastoni
15 Amore is a 1998 Australian feature directed by Maurice Murphy and starring Steve Bastoni.
Maurice Murphy based the story on his own childhood experiences. It follows a mother and her three children living on a remote Australian farm during World War II. Their lives change when two Italian POWs join them. Later, a German-Jewish mother and daughter arrive seeking refuge.
The fragile arrangement grows into a deeply human story of connection and conflict. Emotional undercurrents rise, and cultural boundaries blur. The film offers a moving exploration of displacement, desire, and belonging.
