Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir) is derived from the French word for pine and Italian word for black. The word pine alludes to the grape variety having tightly clustered, pinecone-shaped bunches of fruit. Marnong Estate’s location and geology made it the ideal spot for establishing a Pinot Nero vineyard. The trifecta of geology, elevation and climatic data all combined desirably. Add to it a nice slope and the best row orientation, one can expect to drink a beautifully perfumed Pinot Nero.
Light red colour with brick hue, the nose is fragrant, strawberry and sous bois, silky texture, slippery velvety. Good length, the smooth integrated oak enables the wine to stay with you.
